2018 Carabella Pinot Noir

The Canoe Ridge Estate Chardonnay is refined and elegant and offers apple and citrus aromas with a clean, refreshing finish. We age the wine in lighter French oak barrels to maintain the fresh, elegant style of this Chardonnay.

This stunning vineyard sits on a south-facing wind-swept slope high above the Columbia River. The vines are planted in soils of flood deposits that are more than 10,000 years old. Complex and elegant wine with focused flavors and silky elegant tannins.

The Jonté is a natural dancer. Ten percent barrel ferment provides the rhythm while aromas of green apple and white flower flitter into lively citrus and snap peas. The palate twirls between rich tangerine and tropical guava. Harmonized flavors and lush textures give this wine an elegant, long finish.

The 2018 vintage of Rosé of Cabernet is a perfect shade of rose gold and has aromas of cranberry and some floral notes. The flavors are all about the fresh fruit. Strawberry, watermelon, and cranberry lead the way along with the finish of slightly green melon.

This Syrah is like a fathomless black hole of condensed fruit and smoky spices densely rich with aromas of smoked blackberries and blueberries hinting of BBQ. Resilient tannins give it a girth that holds up to its weight and unctuous character.

This Cabernet Franc reveals its darker savory side with layers of black and dried fruit playing against graphite and leather. It's ample, round tannins give it bold structure and a delicate suggestion of woody spices marry well with this lightly oaked wine and are accentuated in the finish.

The nose is alive with mixed berries, red plum, red currant and an inviting whiff of vanilla-scented pie crust. Aromas of wet slate add interest. The mouth is juicy and bursting with cran-raspberry, red cherry, blood orange and Bergamot. The finish is clean and uplifting.

2016 marks the most complex Austral to date with 5 varieties in the blend: Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, Cinsaut, and Counoise. Couple this with utilization of winemaking techniques such as stem inclusion and concrete fermentation, and it’s like baklava in a bottle, there’s so many sensory layers.

Using the yeast naturally occurring on the grapes in the vineyard allows this wine to show the complexity and depth that slower and more diverse fermentations can yield. Bright berry notes jump out but give way to cucumber and herbs.
