Shipping Policy

By placing an order for an alcoholic beverage through our website, you formally represent that you are at least 21 years of age and that the intended recipient of the shipment is at least 21 years of age.

Ste. Michelle Wine Estates takes very seriously its commitments to sell our products to adults in a responsible manner and to prevent under-age access. To finalize your shipment, additional information may be needed for our comprehensive age verification process.

The recipient will be required to show identification that proves he or she is at least 21 years old and will be required to sign for the delivery. If the recipient cannot provide identification proving their age or the recipient’s home is vacant, the delivery will be re-attempted until the recipient is present and can provide identification. A total of three delivery attempts will be made before the shipment is returned to our facility.

To ensure extreme weather conditions or temperature variances do not impact the quality of your wine, orders will only be shipped Monday through Wednesday for ground shipping (when available) and Monday through Thursday for second-day and overnight shipping. Orders must be placed by 8 a.m. PST to be shipped on the same day.

Please allow up to 5 business days for your order to be charged and processed, plus the estimated shipping timeframe for the shipping method you choose. If you have any questions about your order or delivery status, please email orders@smwe.com.

If your order is time sensitive, please contact us directly at 425-415-3377 to place an order. Orders received after 8 a.m. PST will be processed and shipped on the next applicable shipping day.

State laws restrict or prevent shipping wine directly to consumers in some states. We are only able to ship wine purchased over the internet to the states listed in the table below. Deliveries can only be made to physical addresses. We cannot ship to Post Office boxes or APO/FPO addresses. Some states restrict the amount a consumer can have shipped from a winery. The information below is a summary of the quantities we can ship.

Final local and state taxes will be calculated on email order confirmation once shipping address is reconciled in our system.

If ordering from our SMWE store and shipping to CT, ID, ME, MA, ND, TN, TX or VA, these updated aggregate limits may allow you to ship more wine.

Please contact us regarding any of our products you deem damaged, flawed, or otherwise unsatisfactory. We will work with you directly to find a satisfactory solution as allowed by law. We may request that you return the unfinished portion of the original bottle along with any shipping materials and a copy of the purchase receipt.
